Do I have to pay anything for Alien Arena? : No, the game and all updates are 100% free of charge, as is online play. If anyone is trying to sell you the game then don't buy it! Where can I download Alien Arena? : There are lots of download locations listed Here Servers - I can't see any, help! : Look Here OpenGL? Wtf is it, why is Alien Arena telling me about it when I try and play the game? : Look Here How to update your graphics card drivers? : Look Here How do I cheat at this game? : You don't, or you will be banned. What is Ping? Is a high ping or a low ping better? : Ping is basically the time information takes to travel from your computer to the game server and back again. Lower is generally better. Higher than 250 ping (approx) and you may experience noticeable problems. Don't let ping decide where you play though - stick to low ping servers and you'll miss a lot of fun and never truly become a great player. That guy is moving really fast/has gone hard to see/jumps too high - is he cheating? : Most likely he isn't cheating, but has a powerup - look Here. We do get the very occasional player cheating though, so if you think something is really weird then tell one of the Ops in #alienarena So and so keeps swearing in games/messing games up/teamkilling : We don't control all the servers you see, only some of them. If we catch someone being continually abusive/making problems then we may kick them from some servers, or ban them from servers. Tell us details in #alienarena - though, due to the nature of FPS, some degree of banter, bad language, and idiocy is inevitable, we'll only act in extreme cases. Only bots play this game, where are real people? : There are lots of real people playing, though some times of day are busier than others. Look HERE for a list of all real players who are currently playing online. How do I contact the games developers - I need to speak to them urgently/I have a great idea etc? : Alien Arena is being very actively developed, and those involved are more than happy to hear from anyone either in the forums or in our irc chatroom. I want to make my own server, how do I do it? : There's a great guide to DM flags and server settings on chaingun.org - you may also need to open some ports on your router, a good guide to lots of different routers can be found on portforward.com How do I get fancy colors in my name? : You use color codes when you enter your name. The codes are : ^1 = Red, ^2 = Green, ^3 = Yellow, ^4 = Blue, ^5 = Light Blue, ^6 = Purple, ^7 = White, ^8 = Grey, ^9 = Black. To make letters etc a different color you put in that code BEFORE the letters you want to color. So, if you entered your name as say ^1Sinn it would show as Sinn in game. *more coming soon*
